This joint venture of Hines and Invesco is built from sustainable timber. During the visit, we learned that at high temperatures concrete explodes and steel melts, whereas this engineered heavy timber chars. Time will tell if this new mass timber is replicated but I think the folks at Hines, led by John Heagy, will be successful here. The project offers the technology and systems of a modern office building combined with the organic feel of an older tech/loft space.
